Great Expectations by Charles Dickens was written in 1861 and was the English Author’s 13th novel. This Bildungsroman (or coming of age tale) is set around London and Kent in the 1800s and is narrated by our hero and orphan Pip. Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky (sometimes translated at Fyodor Dostoyevsky ) were written in 1866 and this particular version has been translated by Constance Garnett. This epic piece of classic Russian Literature focuses on the mental, philosophical, and moral plight of an impoverished former student called Rodion Raskolnikov.
